GG has had a history if small starting rosters. Xrd Sign had a roster of 14(16 if you included DLC).GGXX had roster of 19 characters(22 if you count secret characters). GGX had a roster of 14 characters. GG had 12 charcters excluding secret ones. With STRIVE and ArcSys' reinvention of the franchise this is fine considering that almost everything in the game is a new asset.

@Patrick Mulopo the developer is the same. DBFZ is VS fighting game mechanic similar to MVC. But GG mechanic is completely different its more hardcore one vs one

@Patrick Mulopo I have always wanted to play the DBZ games but never got around to them (though I did watch the anime!). Been a fan of the Guilty Gear games since the PS1, etc. PSP too.

Ok, so I feel like a lot of you here don't know what hit stop is, which is a mechanic in animation to put emphasis in a motion so that the motion looks more exaggerated and feels stronger. Every anime, cartoon and video game where melee is involved has hit stop to emphasis the attacks, there's no such thing as "limitations of animation or technical limitations or combat limitations" its an animation tool to make things look better. If you all have the time, look up a video by abitutoril called hitstop

The pause on hits is a pretty common thing in fighting games.. Its mostly used to emphasize the impact of the hits
