As someone who started in world, I know my opinion is probably sacrilege to OG MH fans. I tried to go back and play older games in the series, and the pace just feels slow and I feel the prep bogs it down. I appreciate the streamlined “world” version. This seems like it might be a cross between the two, but I’m not sold yet, might be more original MH than world.

Other then first party titles, nintendo switch was underwhelming. I have a 512gb micro sd card filled up with games... Maybe when a switch pro comes out I'll give it another go.

@CRESCENT MOON I don't get what you mean. Doesn't playstation have a whole host of 3rd party exclusives ex. Persona 5? And nintendo got a few as well, I know smt v will be a third party exclusive. Also back in the days, the main reason monster hunter moved to Wii was because nintendo was willing to cover some of the cost. That's how it's always been. If a third party game is exclusive there has always been some type of deal. MH rise may indeed get a PC release but I doubt it'll ever be on ps5 or series x, however the next MH will be on those platforms. Edit: Also back in the days, it was common for older games to be ported onto newer consoles on other platforms. Last gen had a huge number of exclusives. This gen has just begun. It will also have it's fair share. Nowadays, there are way more developers and they don't need help from console companies like they did in the past so more games are on multiple platforms but in terms of exclusives and all, it's always been the same.

@J I Monster Hunter is a very large franchise in Japan. World sold the worst in Japan. I guarantee the sales will be very strong in Japan. Also, Switch games sell like crazy. I mean, Smash bros outsold Mortal Kombat after all. It's not like it's an impossible task. Monster Hunter is a very strong franchise. Perhaps not hitting 13 million right off the bat, (its not Pokémon levels of popularity) I assume 5 million sales in Japan by summer. And around 3 million worldwide.

@David T Nintendo Pro Gamer I doubt it will beat it in sales solely because it’s only on 1 console, a lot of people are not willing to buy a whole new console for just one game.

Monster Hunter community is pretty awesome. It's a game where you work together not against each other. So for the most part people like to help. I wouldn't mind showing you the ropes.

@Helping Hands anyways this generation has just started with the ps5 and series X and S. We will just have to wait and see what games release in the next few years on the Nintendo Switch, Ps5, and the Series X and S.
